Coe College Physics Department seeks to hire an adjunct engineering instructor for the new Engineering Physics program. The successful candidate will develop curricula and teach:

  • first-year engineering design course
  • project-centered engineering design laboratories
  • one more undergraduate engineering course (depending on the candidate's background)

Responsibilities:

  • Building a student-centered flexible design-based learning method, including classroom and project-centered lab environments, by creating curricula, developing assessment tools, and evaluating other materials.
  • Working as a team with other faculty members to promote student achievement in the new teaching and learning settings.
  • Leading instruction and evaluation of students, making sure they are pursuing the competencies outlined in the course and program learning outcomes.
  • The work assignments include developing the curriculum and teaching new courses for the engineering physics program at the adjunct level.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Engineering, or the equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of occupational, or teaching experience within an engineering-related subject.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. Degree in Engineering, or the equivalent. 
  • College level teaching experience. 
  • Five years of experience in engineering, specifically in manufacturing, robotics, or automated systems.
