Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs, 25 hours per week

Pay Range: $17.82 - $22.80 per hour and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: The primary job is to support JCCC's Student Agency. Responsibilities will include project management, meeting with students, clients, faculty, and providing information about Student Agency to the community. When not working with Student Agency, attention will be given to the CoLab, JCCC's Collaboration Center, supporting its mission to create collaborative, experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty which include responsibility for space and event management, physical scheduling, virtual scheduling, webinar support, daily facility maintenance, light technical support and superior service for faculty, staff, students, and community visitors. Demonstrate and troubleshoot technology usage in the workspaces. Learn new technologies and train faculty and students. Support promotional efforts on behalf of the CoLab through appropriate social media and signage. Any other duties as assigned.
Student Agency is a collaborative initiative supported by the JCCC CoLab that connects students, faculty, and local businesses to bring their projects to life utilizing the state-of-the-art resources readily available on campus. Student Agency serves the college's mission of inspiring learning to transform lives and strengthen communities by empowering students to build their career skills, community networks, and client solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong and effective organizational skills; ability to meet all deadlines while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Superb customer service skills.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to learn technology and demonstrate its use to others.
  • Effective interpersonal skills: ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences; positive attitude and customer service sensibility.
  • Ability to problem solve and work proactively and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work fluently with various types of software applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheets, graphics/presentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and social media.
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Associate degree or two years of college-level coursework.
  • At least two years of experience in either digital media, instructional technology, technical training, customer support, marketing, or event/project coordination in a professional environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years' experience in digital media, instructional technology, technical training, customer support, marketing, or event/project coordination in a professional environment.
  • Work experience in an educational setting.
