Overview: The Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as Deputy Executive Director, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in advancing the museum's mission and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in executive management, demonstrated leadership skills, and a passion for promoting the sport of polo.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the COO and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and initiatives to drive the museum's growth and success.
  2. Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the museum, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to established standards and procedures. Provide leadership and direction to staff members across various departments.
  3. Financial Management: Work closely with the COO to develop and manage the museum's annual budget, monitor financial performance, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
  4. Program Development: Lead the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives to enhance the visitor experience, engage the community, and promote the heritage of polo.
  5. Partnership Development: Cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborations with external organizations, sponsors, and stakeholders to support the museum's mission and objectives.
  6. Board Relations: Serve as a key liaison between the museum's leadership team and the Board of Directors, providing regular updates, reports, and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  7. Staff Development: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes professional growth, teamwork, and collaboration. Provide mentorship and support to staff members to help them achieve their full potential.
  8. Public Relations and Marketing: Represent the museum in various public forums and media outlets, articulating its mission, vision, and impact. Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to enhance the museum's visibility and reach

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Museum Studies, Sports Management, Sports Journalism or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in executive management, preferably in the nonprofit sector or cultural institutions.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful partnership development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Passion for sports, with an interest in the sport of polo and a commitment to preserving its heritage and legacy.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and events.
