Job Description

The University of Missouri seeks a reliable and service-oriented Senior Research/Lab Technician to support the Office of Animal Resources efforts to develop and deliver care, support, and help to University clients. The successful candidate will foster and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, clients, and other lab personnel. Must have a desire to work with and care for animals on a daily basis.

Key Responsbilities Include:
Performing animal husbandry and care, including cleaning facility
Communicating with investigators and veterinarians to ensure that research needs and animal care and welfare are accommodated
Maintain census software on animals and inventory
Assisting management with training and evaluating new animal care and laboratory staff
Maintain facility operations such as calling in work orders, ordering supplies, cleaning/maintaining equipment, handling infections agents, and chemical/materials
Working with campus facilities and other repair technicians to provide access to equipment and coordinating PMs and repairs
Performing compliance checks in animal rooms to maintain regulatory compliance
Helping with animal transports and associated paperwork
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

$ 14.09 - $24.59 per hour

Grade: GGS 6
