Post Doctoral Associate

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a postdoctoral associate in Computational Genomics to begin 1 September 2023. Applicants must have a background in genomics, evolutionary biology, and/or computational biology with a Ph.D. in biology or an applicable field.

The successful candidate will work with members of the Jeffrey Lawrence laboratory examining the impact of selection for dinucleotide periodicity on the evolution of genes and genomes. Minimum qualifications include familiarity with the analysis of genome sequences; preferred qualifications include training in molecular evolution and experience in programming. The position requires the ability to work independently, modify existing software to perform necessary computational analysis, analyze data, and write scientific manuscripts.
