Position Summary

Job Description:
The Graduate Programs in the Graham School of Business at York College of Pennsylvania are pleased to invite applications to teach online sections of Advanced Auditing and Corporate Finance. Advanced Auditing will meet on Zoom on Wednesday nights in the fall semester. Corporate Finance will be offered asynchronously online in the second half of the fall semester.

York College is a teaching-focused institution. The chosen candidate will be expected to hold weekly office hours on Zoom and to attend all meetings relevant to the position, either remotely or in person.

Auditing – starts August 2024
Corporate Finance – starts October 2024

Outcome:
Successful offering of ACC 571 and ACC/MBA 572 in Fall 2024. Both are required courses in the Master of Accounting program; MBA 572 is required in the Master of Business Administration program.

Essential Functions
  • Course design is required for Advanced Auditing. Delivery of pre-designed content is required for Corporate Finance.
  • Deliver course content in the prescribed format
  • Respond promptly to student questions via email
  • Promptly grade student work and submit grades on Canvas
  • Hold a weekly office hour on Zoom
  • Submit warning grades and semester grades by the College's due date
  • Complete College-wide online programs related to campus safety and cybersecurity
  • If selected, complete a satisfactory background check as mandated by state law
Experience and Education Required

A successful candidate will have a master's degree in Business from an accredited (e.g. AACSB, ACBSP, EQUIS) institution and, through a combination of education and experience, possess expertise in either auditing or corporate finance. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. (for Finance) or a CPA (for Advanced Auditing), and with both technical expertise and professional experience in business. A successful candidate will also have two years of higher education teaching experience, utilizing online or hybrid course delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications include the ability to communicate with students and the public. Must also be able to motivate students, be personable and professional, and have patience with and understanding of students. Organizational and time management skills are imperative to offering a successful online course.
